Orlando has certainly established its name as the "thrill capital of the world" over
the last few years and is still continuing to get better and better. 60 miles from the
beach and covering an area around 20 miles from side to side, Orlando is jam-packed full
of entertainment for all ages and all at excellent value for money. Orlando offers four
distinct entertainment districts: International Drive, Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista and
Walt Disney World. |

International Drive
'I-drive' is known as Orlando's original 'tourist strip' and is only 60 minutes from
Sanford Airport. Now extending 12 miles, the area stretches to the edge of Walt Disney
World resort, encompassing Seaworld, Wet 'n' Wild and the Belz factory outlet mall, as well
as loads of shops, restaurants and bars in-between.
There is no doubt that I-Drive will keep all ages entertained whether you are looking for day
time or evening entertainment. If you want to be in the heart of it all then International Drive
is the place to be, and if you want to head to Universal Studios it's just over I-4
motorway. |

Kissimmee
More like the real world, Kissimmee is located just ten miles south of International Drive
and only 75 minutes from Sanford Airport. There are loads of regular supermarkets, restaurants and
bars, making it an ideal destination for a villa holiday and of course there are loads of hotels
available as well.
If you are a shopaholic, you will be in your element with the Kissimmee Manufacturers Outlet mall
amongst the numerous large shopping complexes, designer stores and factory outlets. And remember you
are just on the edge of Walt Disney World. |

Lake Buena Vista
Just about Mickey's back garden, Lake Buena Vista is as close as you can get to Walt Disney World
without staying in one of their official properties. There are many shops, bars and restaurants including
Planet Hollywood and TGI Fridays as well as being close to factory outlets and shopping complexes. Theme
park enthusiasts will be in heaven if they stay in Lake Buena Vista and it's only 60 minutes from Sanford
Airport. |

Walt Disney World
Over 40 square miles of fantastic fantasy theme parks; Walt Disney World will keep people of all
ages entertained for hours and days. The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's MGM studios and Disney's Animal
Kingdom are the obvious main attractions, but don't forget the Disney water parks of Typhoon Lagoon,
Blizzard Beach and River Country for a much needed cool down after rushing around the theme parks all day.
You won't be disappointed with the shopping either at Disney's Market Place or even the Lake Buena Vista
Factory Stores. For the sports enthusiasts there are five championship golf courses as well as a huge sports
complex! Absolutely no chance of getting bored at all, in fact you wont want to come home except for a
rest! |

Gulf Coast |
|
Once you have exhausted yourself in the theme parks why not head to the coast
and experience some of the 800 miles of glorious sandy beaches and clear blue waters
of the Gulf Coast. The best known resorts on the Gulf of Mexico are St Pete's Beach,
Sarasota, Treasure Island and Clearwater beach, only a 2 hour drive from Orlando down
interstate 4. The wide white sandy beaches and calm sea makes it a safe and ideal place
for families. |

Clearwater
90 minutes from Orlando and 2 hours from Sanford airport. Clearwater attracts
a mainly younger crowd perhaps due to the excellent water sports facilities to keep you
amused during the day. At night there are lively bars and nightclubs to keep you
entertained. A great haunt of the yachting scene the old harbour area provides a few
seafront restaurants and you can even hire a boat to go up and down the coast. The
coastline here attracts lots of dolphins so keep your eyes open as you go over the 'inter
coastal highway' bridge. If you do get theme park withdrawal symptoms you can always
spend a day at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay for some more thrilling rides. |

Sarasota
If you are looking for a more cultural 'up-market' location then Sarasota is the
answer. In addition to the gorgeous beaches Sarasota offers museums, dozens of great
restaurants and lots of shops. The usual water sports, golf, tennis and baseball are on
offer. Bar action and nightlife is casual although the theatre scene providing jazz, opera
and musicals add variety to the choices available. Sarasota is about 3 hours from Sanford
Airport. |
